Care Code Information

This information applies to our fabrics only. The numbers used may or may not correspond to care codes in purchased clothing.

Care Code 2	Machine wash warm, line dry
Care Code 3	Machine wash cold, normal cycle. Only non-chlorine bleach when needed. Tumble dry low, remove promptly. Use cool iron if needed.
Care Code 4	Machine wash warm, delicate cycle. Tumble dry low. Use cool iron if needed.
Care Code 5	Machine wash cool. Tumble dry low. Do not dry clean.

Main Street By Mail recommends pre-washing all our fabrics, unless otherwise stated. Other sewing experts have suggested NOT pre-washing rib, so that it shrinks back into shape with the first wash. We suggest that you DO pre-wash our Lycra Rib as it will NOT stretch out of shape while sewing. (The Lycra ensures this.) Pre-washing also helps prevent the rib dye from running onto other parts of the finished garment.
